Recruitment & Retention Workshop - May 12th
Age Management Training is a Department of Employment and Workplace Relations initiative to improve the labour force participation of mature age Australians.
The Team Leader workshop is designed to provide line managers with practical solutions to implement age positive workplace practices to help them attract and retain experienced workers and maintain an age balanced workforce.
Who should attend: Managers, Human Resources staff, Coordinators, Team Leaders

- Venue: Northcote Town Hall 189 High St Northcote
- Date: May 12th. Registration 9.00am, Workshop 9.30am - 4.00pm

Active Clients – Active Choices: Restorative Practice in Community Services - May 16th
This workshop explores the approach to service delivery which underpins the Active Service Model.
It includes:
- Restorative V Dependency models of community care
- Self Efficacy - sources and benefits
- How to Support client decision making and motivation
- Four models of decision making applied to community care
Who should attend: Coordinators, Team Leaders, Case Managers, Allied Health staff, Nursing staff

Handling Complaints & Dealing with Emotionally Laden Situations June - 20th
This workshop explores the value of complaints to clients, workers and organizations. It presents listening and responding skills needed for both dealing with complaints and dealing with emotionally charged, but not abusive, telephone calls. It provides tools to assist workers to stay within the work role while assisting callers who are seeking emotional support.
Who should attend: Coordinators, Team Leaders, Case Managers, Allied Health staff, Nursing staff, Receptionists.

Workshop Presenter
Valerie O'Brien is a Psychologist, Social Worker and Clinical Family Therapist with over 20 years experience of restorative practice in the Disability and Aged Care fields.
